Computers and laptops became the integral part of everyone’s life to store data, watch movie, listen songs, to do project work, accounts transaction, booking tickets etc. Communication in computers are carried through buses, buses are nothing but a path way which carries from one device to another, many buses are present inside the computer for this purpose. Use of specific bus depends on many factors like speed, application used etc.
USB – universal serial bus is an asynchronous bus used to communicate with computer, important feature of USB is plug and play option. Every bus inside PC requires a driver to be installed for it to work properly, where as universal serial bus does not require such drivers. We can plug it and just use it. Hence USB is intended to replace many serial and parallel ports. It is an asymmetric design consisting of host and other USB devices are connected to the host in star topology which indirectly refers that we can add any number of USB devices. Depending upon the speed of operation they are classified as USB 1.0 and USB 2.0. Easy operation, elegant design, fast approach leads the expansion of these devices to keyboards, mouse etc.
